What We Do

Advocate

• Serve as the lead representative for the University charged with advocating on its behalf before policymakers.
• Work with University leadership to develop and advance the University’s policy agenda and goals.

Inform

• Engage in strategic and targeted communications efforts with policymakers, UNC System, national and state organizations, and the campus community.
• Actively monitor legislative and regulatory activities and current events in DC, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and surrounding community.

Connect

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with policymakers, UNC System, national and state organizations, and the campus community.
• Facilitate visits (both on and off-campus) between policymakers, University personnel, and students.

Promote

• Serve as the face of the University before federal, state, and local government, promoting the University’s positive impact.
• Articulate the University’s contributions and value in groundbreaking research, workforce and economic development, and postsecondary education.
